Alma's Cider & Beer
Biography & Highlights
You step off Virgil right into the noise spilling out of Alma's. It's a low key bar where the crowd spills onto the sidewalk with tallboys and cider cans. You don't have to deal with a massive security line tonight. Just slide past the door and grab a spot near the back where the crates of extra stock stack up against the wall.
The room feels tight and loud. People pack in shoulder to shoulder around tiny wooden tables while a local indie outfit tunes up near the front window. It's warm inside from all the bodies and the fridge hum behind the bar. You can't hear yourself think over the chatter and clinking glassware, but that's what makes it feel right for a Tuesday show.
Bartenders move fast pouring pints and handing out fresh glasses without making a big deal out of it. There isn't any fancy stage, just a corner where the band sets their amps right on the floor. You'll end up spilling your drink if someone bumps past, so keep a tight grip on your glass while you watch the set.
